The Cedar Gate
Text messages, and the terms that go with them
We use text messages for one thing: getting you the details you need on the day you need them. Gate codes, cabin numbers, where to check in. Never marketing.
This page is the SMS program terms and conditions for The Cedar Gate.
How you opt in
Texting is always something you turn on yourself. It is never switched on for you, and it is never bundled with your email preferences.
You can opt in four ways, and every one of them is a separate, explicit choice:
- In The Cedar Gate app, on the screen where you set up your profile. You enter your mobile number and tick the text box beside it, and it starts unticked.
- On your membership form, as its own checkbox beside the number.
- When you register for an event, as its own checkbox beside the number.
- When you book a stay by phone or in person, a member of the team asks whether you want the details by text, tells you roughly how many messages that is and that rates may apply, and writes the number down only after you say yes.
What the opt-in looks like
Terms are on this page. Privacy policy is at events.thecedargate.com/privacy.
Yes, text meThe box starts empty and nobody can tick it for you. You turn texts on yourself, in the app or on the form you are filling in, and you can turn them off the same way.
If you never turn it on, you will never get a text from us. Everything still reaches you by email.
What we send
- Gate and door codes for a booking you have made
- Your cabin or lodge assignment
- Where and when to check in for an event you are registered for
- A reminder the day before that event
- An invite for a day shoot you scheduled with The Cedar Gate
That is the whole list. We do not send promotions, offers, or anything you would think of as marketing, and we do not text people who have not asked us to.
How often
Only when something is actually happening. That is about 2 to 4 messages per stay or event, tied to the bookings and events you have chosen. For most members it comes to a handful of messages a year. There is no schedule and no newsletter.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message and the texts end immediately. You do not lose anything else: your membership, your bookings, and your email are all untouched.
Reply HELP and we will text you back with a phone number for a real person.
You can also turn texting off any time in the app, on your profile.
You can always reach a person directly. Call Abi at 405-795-9646 or Stacey at (405) 370-1952 or write to team@thecedargate.com.
Costs
Message and data rates may apply. That is between you and your mobile carrier. The Cedar Gate does not charge for texts.
